Choose the config archive for a native Debian 13 installation, or download both files to build the Debian test image. Debian 13 Trixie with Neovim 0.10.4 is the supported alpha environment.

Verify the archive
The ZIP on this page is copied byte-for-byte from the project's versioned release. It is not regenerated from the working configuration.

Build and run the test environment
Save Dockerfile and autovim_v0-1-0-alpha.zip into the same empty directory. Use Docker with BuildKit enabled, or a compatible Podman build. The Dockerfile installs Debian packages, verifies Neovim 0.10.4 and the archive checksum, restores locked plugins, and builds the 26 configured parsers.
# Run in the directory containing both downloaded files.
docker build -t autovim:0.1.0-alpha .
# Launch the dashboard in a disposable container.
docker run --rm -it autovim:0.1.0-alphaThe image runs as an unprivileged autovim user and starts Neovim directly. It provides C/C++ build tools and Debian's clangd 19 by default; that system server is separate from AutoVim's Mason pin for clangd 23.1.0. Other language runtimes and servers are not preinstalled.
To build without the optional Debian clangd package:
docker build --build-arg INSTALL_CLANGD=0 \
-t autovim:0.1.0-alpha .This is a reproducible setup recipe for the release inputs, not a bit-for-bit frozen OS image: the Debian base tag and package repositories can receive updates. The build explicitly rejects a Neovim version outside the alpha baseline.
Open a test project
Mount a disposable sample project into /workspace. Bind mounts are writable by default, so edits affect those host files. The image uses UID/GID 1000. Mounted-directory permissions must allow that user to read and write; adjust the Dockerfile before building if you need different IDs.
mkdir -p sample-project
docker run --rm -it \
--mount type=bind,source="$(pwd)/sample-project",target=/workspace \
autovim:0.1.0-alpha /workspaceThe test image does not mount your normal Neovim config or install fonts on the host. Select a Nerd Font in your terminal for the explorer icon. For a shell inside the image, use docker run --rm -it --entrypoint bash autovim:0.1.0-alpha.
What this environment tests
The recipe exercises AutoVim running entirely inside Debian 13. It does not implement the dashboard's inactive Container workspace action, remote language-server execution, or compatibility of the alpha with a host distribution.
Each --rm container discards its writable layer on exit. Shell sessions persist within a running Neovim process, not across disposable container runs. Extra language servers installed while testing are discarded with that container.
Validation on 21 October 2026: the exact Dockerfile built end to end with rootless Podman 5.4.2 on Linux amd64, checking Neovim 0.10.4, all 11 locked plugins, and all 26 compiled parsers. Offline dashboard, mounted-workspace, and C/clangd checks also passed on the unchanged recipe. Docker Engine was not independently tested. See the validation record for the precise scope.
Beta platforms
There are no beta downloads yet. Releases for Ubuntu 26, Arch Linux, and the upcoming Fedora 45 are planned. See the platform roadmap.
